Yesterday was Mother’s Day in Spain and today is my Mum’s birthday so I thought I would post the birthday card I made for her as the first official post in my blog.
You can find the video here.
I used a lot of masking in order to stamp the flowers from the Artfull Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
Once I had stamped the flowers with three different inks (Sunshine – Lawn Fawn, Pool – Hero Arts and Carnation Red – Archival Ink by Wendy Vecchi), I masked them and proceed to move the masking lines in order to cover what we will call the negative space. Once that was done, I used Mowed Lawn – Distress Ink with a mini blending tool (looove them) to ink the white space. Remember that the flowers are masked.
Afterwards, I removed the masks and used the outlines stamps from the same set to finish the flower images (Jet Black – Archival Ink).
I stamped the sentiment, in Spanish, with Versamark and embossed it with White (Super Fine Detail) – Ranger on a black piece of cardstock.
To finish the card I have cut the base out of kraft cardstock and mounted it on some foam squares to give it dimension.
Hope you like it!
P.S.: My Mum loved it!
That’s really beautiful Maria!!
Excellent job!!
